Description:
There are places that demand to be experienced without haste, and the Galapagos is one of them. This eight-day itinerary is born from that premise: to enjoy the archipelago with the calm and flexibility that such a unique setting deserves.
We have designed a tour that avoids rigid schedules, allowing you to be the masters of your time.
It is the ideal proposal for those seeking the necessary space to look at each other again, discovering together the magic of the islands and building memories that will always accompany you.
Itinerary:
Your adventure begins in San Cristobal, an island where life flows at a leisurely and authentic pace. After welcoming you at the airport and accompanying you to your hotel, we will take the first steps to understand this unique universe by visiting the Interpretation Center. There you will learn about the origins and secrets that make this archipelago a sacred place for conservation.
Soon after, the path will take you to Tijeretas Hill, a natural viewpoint with a magnificent view where frigatebirds soar over the horizon. From this point, we will descend to the calm waters of the bay for an underwater exploration experience. Whether you are experts or it is your first time in the sea, Tijeretas Bay will welcome you with the company of sea lions, turtles, and tropical fish in an environment of tranquility.
After this close contact with wildlife, we will return to the hotel so you can enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your own pace. It is the ideal time to walk along the boardwalk, choose a spot facing the ocean, and enjoy the sunset, starting your first night on the islands.
Activities: hiking, wildlife watching, snorkeling.
Highlights: San Cristobal, Tijeretas Hill, Observation Center.
For this day, we offer you the freedom to choose between two iconic experiences, allowing you to personalize your stay according to what inspires you most to discover together.
Option 1: Isla Lobos and Playa Ochoa – more hiking than snorkeling
Just 30 minutes by boat from the port, Isla Lobos is home to a large colony of sea lions. It is the ideal setting to walk hand in hand among the fauna and enjoy quiet snorkeling in crystal clear waters. You will be able to observe blue-footed boobies, marine iguanas, and frigatebirds up close, ending the morning in the serenity of Playa Ochoa. A perfect option for intimate contact with wildlife and relaxation on the sand.
At the end, you will return to San Cristobal with the rest of the day free.
Option 2: León Dormido or Kicker Rock – underwater exploration site in the open sea
For couples looking for a dose of adrenaline, this expedition takes you to one of the most imposing volcanic formations in the archipelago. After 45 minutes of navigation, you will arrive at Kicker Rock, a marine sanctuary where you can swim together in a natural canal and observe turtles, rays, and sharks.
The experience is completed with a rest on a pristine beach, a solitary corner ideal for processing the adventure before returning to port.
Couples with diving certification can enjoy an optional deep dive, upon presentation of their credentials.
Activities: snorkeling, hiking, beach, wildlife watching.
Highlights: San Cristobal, Isla Lobos, Playa Ochoa, León Dormido, Kicker Rock.
Early in the morning, you will transfer to the airport to take a small plane to Isabela. This 45-minute flight is not just a transfer; it is an experience that will allow you to admire the geography of the islands from above. Upon landing and settling into your hotel, the rest of the day will be just for you.
Isabela invites you to discover it slowly. You can walk along its beautiful white sand beach, rent bicycles to explore the Wetlands trail, or snorkel in the waters of Concha de Perla. As evening falls, we recommend experiencing one of the most memorable moments on the island: enjoying the sunset and each other’s company with a cocktail in hand from one of the bars facing the sea.
Activities: snorkeling, bike tour, wildlife watching, plane transfer.
Highlights: Isabela, Wetlands.
The day begins with an expedition to the upper part of the island to discover an impressive place: the Sierra Negra Volcano, the second widest active crater on the planet. You will walk surrounded by a landscape that looks like it’s from another world.
The trail continues towards the Volcán Chico, a satellite crater of Sierra Negra. It is a hiking experience that will allow you to feel the geological force that gave life to the islands.
After the hike, you will return to the coastal area to enjoy an afternoon of rest and relaxation on the beach.
Activities: hiking, sailing, swimming, snorkeling, wildlife watching
Highlights: Sierra Negra Volcano, Volcán Chico, Isabela.
Today you will sail to Los Túneles (Cabo Rosa), a surreal setting where volcanic lava and the ocean created a series of natural arches and bridges over crystal clear waters. There you can swim and snorkel with rays, reef sharks, sea turtles, and even penguins. Its beauty makes it one of the most photographic and memorable spots in Isabela.
In the mid-afternoon, you will travel by boat to the island of Santa Cruz. Upon arrival, you will have the night free to begin discovering the vibrant atmosphere of Puerto Ayora, choose a restaurant for dinner, and enjoy the life of the port at your own pace.
Activities: hiking, sailing, swimming, snorkeling, wildlife watching
Highlights: Los Túneles, Isabela, Puerto de Santa Cruz
The morning begins in the highlands of the island visiting a local ranch, where you will experience observing giant tortoises in their natural environment.
After lunch, the road will take you to Tortuga Bay. After a walk along a path surrounded by endemic cacti, you will discover a beautiful white sand beach and turquoise waters that seem to have no end. It is the perfect place to relax, swim, or simply walk along the shore, observing species such as marine iguanas, sharks, herons, and finches.
At the end of the afternoon, you will return to the port by boat for a more comfortable return. To close the day with a special touch, you will enjoy a dinner at an exclusive restaurant, celebrating the moments lived on this journey.
Activities: hiking, wildlife watching, swimming
Day’s highlights: giant tortoise ranch, Tortuga Bay beach
This day is completely for you. Santa Cruz offers the perfect balance between relaxation and local discovery. You can choose to return to Tortuga Bay or explore Puerto Ayora, where you will find art galleries and local jewelry.
It is also the perfect opportunity to enjoy the island’s gastronomy somewhere in the port or simply relax by the sea, leaving room for the spontaneous on your last full day in the archipelago.
Activities: free exploration day
Highlights: Tortuga Bay, Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz
Your stay concludes with the transfer to the Itabaca channel to cross to Baltra Island. Your driver will accompany you on this final stretch, ensuring that everything flows on your way to the airport and thus closing an unforgettable trip.
